HW:  10-2 Quiz Wednesday:  Complete 10-3 Guided Reading together.  HW:  10-3 Quiz Thursday:  Review Ch 10 Friday:  Ch 10 Test 8th Grade Monday:  Correct US Const Tests.  HW:  Ch 8 Vocab Tuesday:  8-1 Guided Reading HW:  8-1 Quiz Wednesday:  8-2 Guided Reading HW:  8-2 Quiz Thursday:  8-3 Guided Reading HW:  8-3 Quiz Friday:  Supplemental Activity TBA Added By: Amanda Dannenmueller (adannenmueller@advance.k12.mo.us) 1/15/2011 12:36:00 PM Saturday, January 15, 2011 12:30:00 PM Note to 7th Grade Parents I went ahead and inputted your child's project grade into STI, though there are a few that still have not presented.  I have to say, I was very proud of your children (you and their past teachers are to be commended)--I feel the research, written, and presentation portions of their project is the best I've received in the years I've been at Advance.  Added By: Amanda Dannenmueller (adannenmueller@advance.k12.mo.us) 1/15/2011 12:30:00 PM Saturday, January 15, 2011 12:28:00 PM Notes to 8th Grade Parents I have now updated STI, so your child’s grades should be current.  Please let me know if you notice anything peculiar.   Please note, the grade your child was given for the US Constitution Test is out of 120 points, so it is not actually a percentage.  For example, if your child shows 100 on the STI report, this is not an A.  You would figure the actual percentage by dividing 100 by 120 which would equal an 83%, a B letter grade.   Monday they are going to be allowed to correct their test in class to receive ½ bonus point for each properly corrected answer.  So again for example, if your child originally earned 100/120 and corrects the missed 20 points, he or she will receive 10 bonus points essentially giving them a 92% though this will be shown in bonus points on STI and will NOT change the percentage reported to the counselor for the records (all students must pass the US and MO Constitution Tests respectfully at some point in their time at Advance in order to graduate—they will be given the opportunity again in their HS Gov’t class).   They will also be assigned the Chapter 8 Vocab worth 26 points on Monday.  If they finish their test corrections early, it is possible they will have time to complete this assignment in class as well, but if not, it will become homework.   *Most students did not do well on the Amendments Quiz given Friday, January 7.  They will be allowed to retake this quiz after school Tuesday, January 18.  This is the only opportunity they will be given to do this unless they are absent 7th hour that day (if they are not in my class earlier that day, but show up by 7th hour, they will still be expected to take it that day, but if they leave school early, they can make PRIOR arrangements with me to take it another time).  I will speak with Mrs. Below about the JH Volleyball players being allowed to retake this quiz before going to practice if one has been scheduled.
